CADL is excited to co-sponsor a free lecture by one of the nation’s most inspiring and influential authors and scholars, Dr. Eric Michael Dyson. Dr. Dyson is a Georgetown University sociology professor, a New York Times contributing opinion writer, and a contributing editor of The New Republic. His appearance is part of the Dr. William G. Anderson Lecture Series, “Slavery to Freedom,” in partnership with the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. Held at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing.

He'll do a cooking demonstration and offer samples of recipes from My Modern American Table (books will be available for sale and signing). 90-second Newbery Film Fest with James Kennedy (Held off-site)

Celebrate CADL's 4th annual 90-second Newbery Film Festival, featuring local contest entries plus some of the nation’s best films. Meet our special guest—creator of the national contest, author James Kennedy! Children's author and illustrator Aaron Zenz will add some silliness to the event. Admission is free and open to all ages; discounted refreshments can be purchased. Books by both Kennedy and Zenz will be available for sale and signing. Held at Celebration Cinema in Lansing.
