As part of Meridian Township’s 175th Anniversary Year, Meridian Township and CADL are proud to present the WTC Memorial Quilt Project, on display during open hours in the east wing/food court area of Meridian Mall from Sept. 8–11. Following the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11, quilter and police dispatcher Amy Sue Leasure asked for donations of hand-sewn red, white and blue quilt blocks as a way of honoring those who died. Over 20,000 blocks were donated, which volunteers across the country sewed into 300 quilt panels and 10 honor banners.
