Connect with us on a variety of topics relating to Michigan – our culture, our history and just about anything pertaining to our great state! Today's topic is titled "Maxine Thompson’s Story – Lineage: a Memoir." As a Detroit teenager, Maxine Thompson integrated Traverse City’s St. Francis High in 1967-68, while living with renowned local sculptress Verna Bartnick. Thompson's sister, Sonya Vann DeLoach (pictured), will discuss Maxine's experience of that tumultuous and racially charged year that saw the assassination of Dr. King and uprisings across the U.S. through her autobiography, "Lineage: A Memoir." Also hear about her novel, "The Ebony Tree." *Registration required to receive event link; click "register" below.
